The graphics accelerator dies every few minutes, and the heatsink isn't mounted on the chip evenly or whatever, so it overheats. That's what they told me before anyway.

Now taking donations for the "buy Tits a new graphics card" fund.

That's kinda funny....last night in nef place...something about the way in which there is a large open space and then the walls of the room was driving my video card insane. If we hadn't started the event, I basically couldn't move or do much of anything without it going from game visuals-> blackness -> random colors -> and then back to the game ( sometimes it would be all blacknes, and I would have to reboot. ie. /p FUC K I can't see again )

But, as soon as we pulled everythign cleared up and I could run around and die with the rest of the group easily enough :shock:

. I'm runnig a 9600 pro, I'm very much thinking about going out and getting an NVidia card now if this is going to be the future of Blizzards instances, causing ATI cards to die in a fiery ruin.

Same thing happened to me, Elendur. It's not a problem with your card, people have experienced this in Searing Gorge as well as BWL. To fix it, you need to revert to the Catalyst 5.1 drivers. Did this last night during BWL and it fixed it for good.

Unfortunate if you play other games, because its 8 months old driver, but if you're obsessed with WoW, you'll find no problem using an older driver.

Room: your saying to get rid of the omega drivers adn just go back to stock ATI drivers? If so, I'll give it a shot before I buy a new video card.

I had the same problems last night. I couldnt find anything on the ATI site for the 5.1 drivers. I went to the Omega Drivers archive and found a link to download them from their mirror site.

I'm using some old omegas and I have no crashing issues in nefs lair. Using version 2.6.25a

I had that same problem in addition to the problems my card all ready had. There's something about a few places in the game that make the 3D graphics accelerator crash.
I'm still working out what I'm gonna get or do now, but if I end up with the 9800 Pro back, I guess I'll have to try those older drivers as well. All I really play on my computer right now is WoW, and any other games I play are older games that don't matter much.
